ABOUT TEAM NEVERLAND
Hi there!
We are Katie and Cam and we are the camping and DIY enthusiasts behind Camping in Neverland. We are passionate about the great outdoors, and getting out in nature whenever we can. Although we have two different goals while camping; Cam likes to hike and Katie likes to read by the fire. We have been camping our whole lives, but started camping together in 2018. Through our explorations we have been to a few campsites in North Carolina and South Carolina, and now we are exploring more and more of Minnesota every year.
A DREAM COME TRUE
Camping in Neverland started as a dream when we realized that tent camping with an infant would be more difficult than we were willing to handle. We wanted to move towards cabins at state parks, but we always go camping with our dog, and they are not pet friendly. That lead us to pricing out AirBnBs and finding that where we go camping, the cost is astronomical! The logical conclusion was some sort of camper/RV situation, because we were NOT going to give up camping for years until our little one was old enough to tent camp in the fall in Minnesota.
Everything seemed to align when we found an old Coleman pop-up camper on Facebook Marketplace. We loved the idea of restoring it ourselves, and quickly realized there were so many other campers out there looking for advice and inspiration. We decided to document our journey and share our tips, restoration processes, and camping experiences with others who are equally passionate about life in comfort while exploring the great outdoors.
Our goal with Camping in Neverland is to inspire other camping lovers to reconnect with nature, explore new places, and enjoy the comforts of a vintage camper. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time camper, we want to provide you with the tips, advice, and inspiration you need to embark on your own adventures.
On this blog, you’ll find camper restoration learnings and some step-by-step guides, product reviews, camping tips, and personal stories from our travels. We’ll also share budget-friendly ways to restore your camper, how to set up a comfortable camp, and our favorite camping destinations.
We believe that nature is restorative, and getting out in nature helps heal one’s body and mind. Our restoration projects focus on function and comfort so that we are never dissuaded from going into nature because of difficulties we may face. It’s all about taking time to step away and slow down time, because life moves so quickly.
